    B&M

"It's simply spot on - everyone should be on this platform."

B&M – one of the UK’s largest variety retailers – has adopted the r2c Online Service Network platform to manage the compliance and maintenance of their commercial vehicle fleet.

B&M have over 380 stores across the UK, supported by a fleet of 160 tractor units and 330 trailers. All trailers and a small percentage of trucks are maintained in-house, with the majority of the tractor units maintained by external repair agents. Regardless of where servicing is carried out, B&M are now able to manage and monitor their entire maintenance operation through the r2c Online system

Steve Pearson, Fleet Manager at B&M, explained their reasons for choosing the platform, “We had heard of r2c Online and after someone gave us a demo we got an even better idea of everything the system can do. We had no hesitation in adopting the platform; with a fleet our size, we used to have a file for every asset and now r2c does that for us which is so much easier”.

r2c Online gives B&M the ability to electronically schedule repair and maintenance and save all compliance paperwork to the online system. Pearson highlights why this is important, “All the necessary paperwork is saved online. If VOSA were to visit, I can access details of the entire fleet at the click of a button. This supports us in running a fully compliant fleet and keeping our OCRS in the green”.

r2c Online allows B&M to keep track of all their service inspections, MOTs and defects in one place. In addition to managing third party repairers, this fleet visibility has improved efficiency in B&M’s own workshop too says Pearson, “We really like that we can see if work is in progress or completed. And because I can clearly see which defects apply to which vehicle I can assign the repair work with the most suitable technician”.

B&M have been fully operational with r2c Online since March and Steve Pearson has been impressed with how easy the system is to use, “All the training could be delivered online or in the classroom and the team both in the office and the workshop have got to grips with it very easily. It’s simply spot on – everyone should be on r2c Online.”

Nick Walls, Managing Director of r2c Online commented, “It has always been our vision to connect the road transport industry, to work on one open platform improving efficiency and accuracy for all sides – both fleets and repairers. It is great to see that B&M are getting the full benefit of the technology.”
